Crucible Update

DESTINY CRUCIBLE

The PvP structure rebalanced for longevity: tactical gunplay where skill wins, mayhem where builds explode, and clear playlist identity every week.

05. The Crucible

Lord Shaxx splits the sandbox cleanly down the middle to isolate competitive balance.

Playlist A

The Tactical Core

Pure mechanical skill, gun skill, and map positioning. Turns Destiny's weapon feel into a clean tactical arena shooter.

  • Grenades, melee abilities, and supers are completely disabled.
  • All double-jumps and class abilities are disabled.
  • Armor stats (Mobility/Resilience/Recovery) are flattened.
  • Serves as the onboarding path for Trials of the Fracture.
Playlist B

The Mayhem Sandbox

The traditional, chaotic Destiny space-magic fantasy. Unleash your custom, reality-cracking Prismatic Core builds.

  • All Prismatic abilities, SIVA nanites, and dual supers are active.
  • Ability cooldowns are standardly dialed back to prevent infinite loop exploits.
  • Gunfights still dictate match momentum.
  • Earn weekly telemetry points to upgrade PvE nodes.

🎮 Shaxx's Simplified Playlists

To prevent split queues and dead matchmaking pools, Shaxx limits standard play to four core queues:

Clash (Quickplay)

Standard 6v6 Team Deathmatch. Casual, fast-paced, focused purely on logging on and trading kills.

Control (Objective)

6v6 territory and zone control. The definitive, flag-capping multiplayer experience.

Rumble (12-Player)

A massive, 12-player Free-For-All. Pure chaos where you rely entirely on your own radar and gun skill to survive the onslaught.

Gunsmith's Arena (Weekly)

Weekly rotating fun modes: fixed loadouts (SWAT style), Scorch Cannons only, or heavy vehicular battles.

⏳ Trials of the Fracture

Hosted by Elsie Bray (The Exo Stranger). Black-book tactical trials to secure chronological anomalies.

Because you shattered the Axis Seed, chronal anomalies are opening across the system. Elsie needs the absolute elite. Trials of the Fracture primarily uses the Tactical Core sandbox (3v3 Elimination, zero abilities) so skill is the deciding factor.

The Weekly Anomaly

To prevent a stale weapon meta, Elsie introduces a "Chronal Shift" modifier every weekend:

  • Week 1: Radar is disabled, forcing sound-based awareness.
  • Week 2: Locked loadouts (e.g. Scout Rifles and Sidearms only).
  • The 3rd Week Rotator: Every third weekend, the rules break. Trials shifts entirely into the Mayhem Sandbox, unleashing full Prismatic powers and dual supers in a chaotic, high-stakes 3v3 clash.
The Forgiveness Card

Features a built-in double-elimination system allowing you to absorb exactly one loss without breaking your Flawless card. The catch: that loss permanently locks your Heavy Weapon slot for the rest of the card.

The Fractured Vault

Going 7-0 no longer transports you to a lighthouse. Instead, you are granted access to The Fractured Vault—a secret, pristine chamber hidden deep within the Vex network. Rewards "Paradox Variant" weapons featuring a moving shattered glass texture, unique iron sights, and custom firing audio. Also awards a month-long glowing Glass Halo.
